It's Homecoming Day!!!

Homecoming Plans!!
Hello Howard Families & Friends!
We are planning for our sailors to come home! Yay!! We have some fun ideas in the works, and for those of you that are not able to attend our monthly meetings, we want to make sure that you are still informed of the plans!
First things first, if you would like to be a part of our Homecoming Committee please let us know! We need and would love to have your help in the planning and preparations!
The FRG presented the idea of fresh flower lei for our sailors when they step off the ship! Everyone loved the idea, so we have been in contact with a company here in San Diego who offers bulk discounts. The lei, simply put, are stunning!!! You will want to have one for your sailor! They look even more stunning worn & it was voted that the Blue lei was the color of choice (see photo below). Our bulk order pricing is $19.96 per lei. Leis will need to be ordered by October 1st. Don't leave your sailor without one!!
Also, this year in lieu of a "Night Before" celebration dinner, we presented the idea of a Candlelight Celebration on Point Loma. We have been in talks with other ships in the strike group in hopes of making this a large celebration for our sailors and families. Our thoughts and hopes are that if the ships are close enough, they will be able to see us from the water the night before they pull into port.

FRG "Change of Command"
Hello families,
I wanted to let you know that your FRG has a new president! Amy Edwards (wife of OSC Edwards) will now be leading your FRG! I will stay on as her VP and still be available for contact until the end of the year, but as my husband prepares to make a change of station, it was only fair that you have someone who can best take care of you and will be around to help you when you need it!
Amy is available for contact at the same email address: howardfrg@gmail.com and there you can request her phone number for contacting her. (remember this is a public site, so I don't want to give out that info here)
Our FRG is still also in need of a Treasurer and Secretary. At the moment, we hold all these positions, so if you feel that you can offer a few hours a week to help out, please let us know!!
I have EVERY confidence in Amy and her amazing ability to lead the FRG, so welcome her with open arms and help here to support our Howard families!!
